I guess this question has been asked many times before, only allow me enquire it ane more than fourth dimension:
Is is possible to fix resolution to 1920x1080? I take already tried adding 'vga=ask' to the boot parameter line and it works indeed, only the highest resolution it offers is 1280x1024. So how practise I fix college resolutions, preferably 1920x1080?
Give thanks you guys!

What resolutions are supported depends on your
hardware and driver.
If vga=ask works for y'all, that means you're using
vesa commuter in non-hardware-accelerated mode.
The supported resolutions are express by your VESA BIOS.
If you don't see 1920x1080 in the list, it'southward not supported.
Refer to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VESA_BIOS_Extensions
What is your GPU?

Cheers for your reply!
I forgot to mention one important item: I am running Android x86 in VMware Histrion 12 equally a virtual OS. I take switched hardware acceleration on in the virtual OS'south settings, but, equally I said, the highest resolution I get is 1280x1024.
Previously, I used AndyOS, which is, in fact, an Android paradigm and a virtual machine player (based on VMware) integrated into i slice of software. And it does provide high-def resolutions, including 1920x1080. And then I know it is possible in principle. The question is how?

The resolution of VMware driver (vmwgfx) is hardcoded
to 800x600. I changed information technology to 1280x720:
https://osdn.net/projects/android-x86/scm/git/kernel/commits/c2b2fbc1a33e67826d264d5568d82b1491fc2bf9
I didn't run across a way to change it at runtime.
To see if yous have enabled 3D hardware acceleration
correctly, check Settings -> About -> OpenGL version.

Oh wow, so you are the one who worked on this? I wonder what was the point in limiting the resolution by 800x600 (or 1280x720)?
Is it possible to increment it somehow on VMware? (probably only possible by recompiling the kernel, right?)
Also, perchance information technology is possible to employ some other VM player with some other driver supporting 1920x1080? Which one would you suggest?
Just in case, my OpenGL info is every bit follows:
OpenGL driver version
GL vendor: VMware, Inc.
GL Renderer: Gallium 0.4 on SVGA3D; build: RELEASE; LLVM;
GL Version: OpenGL ES 3.0 Mesa 17.1.10 (git-946651c59a)
Cheers !

Thanks for this link. I tried setting the display settings as shown on your screenshot here:
but I still accept a very limited set of resolutions bachelor (and no HD, such as 1920x1080):
Just in case, my VMware version 12.5.nine.28553.

Try video=1920x1080. Information technology worked for me in vmware before. Yous may also increase dpi past DPI=480

Oh my god, you are my hero Christian!!! :)) indeed, "video=1920x1080" does actually fix the resolution properly! :) Give thanks you x1000 :)) Also, just in case, I had to set DPI to 150 on my "24 monitor to become the best picture quality (reasonable sized fonts + non-blurry overall movie quality). Give thanks you!
Hope others looking for solution will find this thread.
My but question now is how exercise I salvage these parameters so that I will non have to re-type them each time I need to restart my OS?

Ah! Thank you for reminding me!
Actually video= just works subsequently I practical this patch:
https://osdn.cyberspace/projects/android-x86/scm/git/device-generic-common/commits/2181825646c97548e02498cb614a90177233e30b
I just forgot that. My memory is poor now...

Depends on your device is UEFI or legacy booting.
If it's UEFI (nearly mod devices are), yous need to
modify android.cfg in the EFI organization sectionalisation (ESP).

OOPS! I forgot you said yous're using VMware...
Bad retentivity!
VMware supports both legacy and UEFI booting.
But the default is legacy if you lot didn't change information technology.
For legacy booting, modify /grub/menu.lst
in the android-x86's partition.

that would get a larger number of screen resolutions you lot need to set the type of Invitee OS Windows 7 - for the other Guest Os VMware will show a shortened list similar you lot
